New Jersey set to launch Camden Home Improvement Program

September 06, 2006

The State of New Jersey is about to launch a home repair program that will make $7.5 million in grants available to Camden homeowners to repair and renovate their homes. Camden Churches Organized for People (CCOP) won the program as part of an effort to ensure the $175 million Camden economic recovery plan resulted in direct benefits to Camden residents and neighborhoods. The program is designed to stabilize neighborhoods, build family wealth and encourage private investment. The Cooper's Ferry Development Association will administer the program. CCOP led the effort to pass the $175 million recovery plan and has been working to hold state and local officials accountable for promises to revitalize Camden's neighborhoods.
