Celebrating 30 Years of Organizing - CCOP's 2015 Fundraiser
Thursday, October 15th, 6:00 pm at The Kove
Camden Churches Organized for People is delighted to invite you to celebrate 30 years of community organizing! For 30 years, CCOP has worked to create grassroots collaboration among residents in the city of Camden, and surrounding suburbs, toward building a better Camden. Our organizing discipline teaches creative forms of civic responsibility that empower ordinary people to seek new relationshps, and methods for community engagement that promote economic opportunity by breaking cycles of incarceration and poverty.
Buy tickets online or mail payments to CCOP at P.O. Box 1317, Camden, NJ 08105. If you cannot attend, please consider making a donation to CCOP as your way of helping build Camden into a strong and healthy community once again. Your support is crucial to our future success.
CCOP Organizing Academy
Tuesday, October 20th, at 6:30 - 8:30 pm
CCOP holds a series of monthly trainings every third Tuesday of the month, from 6:30 - 8:30 pm, at different member congregations. Throughout the year, we will explore readings, principles and practices at the core of effective community organizing. Those who attend 75% of the curriculum will graduate with a certificate from the CCOP Organizing Academy. In October, we will continue with the theme of action. In preparation, please invite your friends and members of your congregation to join you.
Need a Job?
In an effort to reduce poverty and unemployment in the city of Camden, our Contract for Camden seeks to create jobs for Camden residents, connect residents to existing employment opportunities and remove barriers to work. The following opportunities have been shared with CCOP and we ask that you help us get the word out to your congregations.
