Driving Without Fear Lobby Day / Conduciendo Sin Miedo Dia en Congreso

On Monday, a delegation of 20 CCOP leaders joined residents from across the state for a press conference to launch our efforts in Trenton to pass the 'New Jersey Safe and Responsible Driver Act.' That afternoon, leaders - some for the first time ever - met with legislators to share testimony and ask them to support A4425/S2925. Senator Nilsa Cruz-Perez and Assemblywoman Patricia Egan Jones of the 5th district were present to support the efforts of the group and share why they are sponsoring the legislation.

After more than a year of working to pass legislation in favor of driver's licenses, we are ready to go to the State House for the first in a series of votes in the legislature. Join us while we travel to Trenton to be present for an Assembly Committee Hearing on A4425. We will enter the chambers around 12 pm to testify at the 1 pm hearing and ensure that they know the importance of this bill to our families, while asking that legislators vote it out of committee the same day. You can plan on a full day commitment and we will travel by River Line together. We are still planning the day and, depending on the political environment, details could change.
