Celebrating 30 Years of Community Organizing
October 15, 2015
Camden Churches Organized for People celebrated its 30th anniversary at The Kove in Audubon on Oct. 15. Rep. Donald Norcross, state Sen. Nilsa Cruz-Perez and Camden County Police Chief Scott Thomson were on hand to discuss hot-button issues.
The evening included dinner, entertainment, silent auctions and prize baskets.
Founded in 1985, CCOP is a coalition of more than 50 South Jersey faith leaders addressing issues of injustice and inequality. It employs a bottom-up leadership structure to give Camden residents a say in decisions affecting their families and businesses.
The nonpartisan organization is currently focused on issues including voting rights, immigration, mass incarceration of boys and men of color; and economic development.
You can still celebrate with us by making a donation in honor of our 30th anniversary!
